It is immense pleasure to place on record that factory is celebrating Golden Jubilee year for service to the agro based Sugar Industry in Co-operative Sector. Being a multi state Co-operative society having service area in the Karnataka and Maharashtra state with 30712 sugarcane cultivator 'A' Class members and 806 'B' Class members of both states. Initially factory was started with 1250 TCD and the time passed away the demand of expansion project has been considered and now it is crawled up to 8000 TCD. The main motto of the * society is to serve the members involved in the activity of sugarcane processing and to support good cane price for the cane supplied. And to uplift the thrift economy of the rural people and their socio-economic and education improvement and development and to provide employment to the rural youths.

The time passed away the concept of sugar industry has been got important to diversify the By-products to be produced by sugarcane. The idea of utilizing the enormous quantity of Bagasse generated by the factory shall be utilised for Bagasse based cogeneration projects and other agro waste. Meanwhile to get utilization of advanced and improved technology in the field of boiler and turbines. However to support during the acute shortage of power to the development of industrial and economic growth of nation and to pay attractive sugarcane price to the farmers by realisation of surplus power generated by the cogen project for sale to the State/Private electricity boards.

In consideration the idea of establishment of cogeneration project has been came in the mind of Board of Management.. Accordingly the DPR for the 41MW cogeneration project with budgetary cost of Rs.123.92 Crores in two phases i.e. phase-I of 26MW and phase—II of 1SMW has been prepared by the leading consultants M/s. Mitcon and M/s. Ugar Consultancy Limited, Ugar KD. The main purpose of setting of this power project as a principle fuel supplemented by Bagasse, other bio mass fuel and conventional fuels.
